Eleanor Tinsley Park

Eleanor Tinsley Park is one of my favorites in Houston! This is a park within the larger Buffalo Bayou Park. Read our guide to Buffalo Bayou for a greater overview of what this park has to offer.

We made a separate post for this park to specifically mention that this park is the BEST SPOT for catching good pics of the Houston Downtown Skyline!

View from the Nau Family Pavilion – our absolute favorite spot to take photos of the downtown skyline!

There’s a small parking lot near the park visitor center/Jamail skate park (only about ~20 spots) or you can find a metered spot along Allen parkway, but it does get busy during peak hours.

Another option that we like to do is park at Spotts Park and grab a Bbike to bike over here. There’s just enough time to make it to Tinsley Park and back in an hour.

If you’re here, check out the Police Officer’s Memorial (cool structure that’s a great photo op)! It’s walkable along the Buffalo Bayou trail. Also check out the underground cistern (need to buy tickets in advance) that’s near the visitor center.
