Bell Park

This is a tiny one – just 1.15 acres. It is a city block that has been converted into a small, charming park located within the Museum District. There’s not much to do and it will take just a few minutes to walk through, but it offers a serene escape from the busy museum district.

Update: Bell Park was once home to a Christopher Columbus statue until June 2020. It was removed by the City of Houston after it was vandalized for the second time (first time in August 2017) as a form of protest. The statue had been donated to the city by the Italian-American Organization of Greater Houston. In its place, remains an empty pedestal. Find out more on Houston Chron

Pro tip: Park on the street here for free for 3 hours to check out the MFAH Cullen Sculpture Garden & Cloud Column and the free Contemporary Arts Museum (currently closed due to the pandemic) if you want to avoid the MFAH paid parking garage. We also recommend visiting the MFAH itself, but this museum is large enough that you could easily spend all day inside.
