El Franco Lee Park

El Franco Lee Park is a surprising gem located near Pearland. We really enjoyed hiking the 2 mile Wetlands Trail here!

There are many baseball and soccer fields located towards the front of the park. Keep driving towards the back of the park if you want to hike the trail.

The trail ecosystem ranges from forested cover to open wetlands and winds around a large manmade 1/4 acre lake. The lake provides a nice breeze on a hot day! There are also two small observation decks on either side of the lake to admire the view of the landscape.  Included near these decks are informative signs describing the native species to the region.

As you round the corner past the lake, there’s also a picturesque gazebo to stop and take photos at. This is a great spot to fish. The lake is home to large mouth bass and catfish. There’s even a fishing hole built into the boardwalk pier.

I do wish there were more maps available throughout the park. There were no maps when we visited indicating how long the trail would be.
