Cullinan Park

Sitting large at about 750 acres in size, Cullinan Park will take an hour to two hours to fully explore. We highly recommend visiting this park if you’re interested in wildlife, hiking trails, and unique photo opportunities!

There are actually two Cullinan parks in Houston. This is the larger and more popular one located in Sugarland (Southeast Houston). Learn about our visit to the other Cullinan Park located in Southwest Houston.

One thing we noticed when arriving is how small the parking lot appeared for its popularity. Luckily, we visited on a weekday, so there were plenty of parking spots. We headed to the right side of the parking lot first. This side features a boardwalk, observation deck, and large lake – perfect for photo opportunities!

There were signs for gators on this side of the park. We didn’t see any, but did see plenty of birds.

The other side of the park is home to a large forested area with miles of hiking trails and lush greenery. Follow along the trails with this map.

Our visit led us to the large pecan tree, which is the only point of interest on the map. This pecan tree is the 23rd largest in the state of Texas!
